What is the difference between an Auction & Estate Sale?
Estate sales are conducted in your home, and each item is priced individually. The sale is usually 2-3 days and on the last day everything is offered at 50% off. The percentage charged is usually higher than auction fees and many times, there will be items that do not sell.
Auctions are conducted outside your home. Everything is taken out the morning of the auction and displayed in your yard. The average auction is approximately 4 hours. If an item does not get a bid, we with add something to it so there are very little items, if any that are left after the auction.
What do you charge to conduct an auction?
We charge a percentage of the total sale amount, but because each auction is unique, it is difficult to give an accurate estimate over the phone. We offer free consultations where we can discuss our recommendations and based on your needs determine the percentage amount.
Do I have to give Favaro Auction Service any money up front?
No. All fees are deducted from the proceeds of the sale and we give you a check for the difference.
How much are advertising fees?
Based on the items you are selling, we make suggestions on which newspapers we recommend advertising with. After that, you decide how much you would like to spend. We also list your auction on our website and auctionzip which is no cost to you.
How soon after the auction do we get paid?
We give you a final settlement form along with a check within 24 hours.
What other fees are associated with the auction?
We recommend a Port-a-let which will run around $100 for the day. We also have the ability to accept credit cards which will increase your sales. There is a 3% fee for all credit card transactions.
Do we need to have food & drinks available at the auction?
We do recommend having food and drinks available, but it would be no cost to you. We invite a “food wagon” to set up. They only thing they will need is an electrical outlet.
